“Unbroken”, the latest single from Canadian country artist Karac Hendriks combines his lap steel guitar and soulful vocals into a modern take on country and roots music that is all his own.   With a busy summer touring schedule, including a performance on the Coca-Cola Stage at the Calgary Stampede, Karac has made a number of new fans at his live shows…including a very special duet partner!  During his headlining Calgary Stampede performance at the National Music Center’s historic King Eddy, Karac was joined on stage by none other than Alberta Premier Rachel Notley for a spontaneous duet of Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way”.  Photos and video of the chance meeting and performance lit up social media the next day.

Karac Hendriks had an exciting start to the year with two nominations and a performance of his single “Thinking About You” at the Alberta Country Music Awards (ACMA).  The country artist then wrapped up a highly successful radio tour across the Maritimes and Ontario promoting his single “This Road is Mine”.  Reaching #77 shortly after its release on the Nielsen/Billboard Canadian Country Airplay Chart resulted in numerous adds for the single to Canadian country radio playlists. Karac also made a number of TV appearances on major Canadian outlets including Global Kingston’s The Morning Show, Rogers Daytime Ottawa and Global Toronto's The Morning Show.

Hailing from eastern Alberta and based in Edmonton, Karac first began performing at the young age of four but became truly enamored with music when he got his hands on his great grandfather’s turn-of-the-century mandolin. Little did he know that this would become the catalyst that would ignite his lifelong passion for music. Often compared to country music icons like Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban in both talent and on-stage charisma, Karac combines his skills on acoustic, electric and lap steel guitar with dynamic, soulful vocals to bring his original songs to life, both on-stage and in-studio. 

For many years, Karac worked as a highly sought-after and respected supporting guitarist and harmony vocalist for some of Canada’s biggest country acts. He’s toured with the likes of Gord Bamford and was the lone accompanist for Gord’s “Bamford on the Beach” concert with Aaron Pritchett. He’s also toured with Adam Gregory and Sean Hogan for his “Canadian Country Christmas” tour. But with a dream to one day take center stage himself, Karac took a final bow and decided to pursue a solo career in 2016.

Karac kicked off his solo career in a big way, debuting a self-titled album which spawned two radio singles including “(Blame It On My) Youth” and his second “Can’t Help Loving You” which hit #10 all-genre Most Active Indie in Canada on the Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS). The ACMA nominated album also featured the track “Feel the Magic”, which was the official song inspired by the athletes of the 2012 Special Olympic Canada Winter Games, giving him the opportunity to perform at their Opening Ceremonies. Karac and his band have also gone on to perform at major events including the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup Festival and Big Valley Jamboree. 

Karac was among 2017’s Top 12 Artists in Project WILD, a professional development program that works to educate, promote, develop and launch the careers of some of Alberta’s up-and-coming country and roots artists. He’s also been featured in the Alberta Motor Association “Just A Card” campaign, which promotes the benefits of membership to young families. His “Just A Card” video was also featured throughout the Country Thunder Music Festival held in Calgary, Alberta.
